I dont think even lack of programming is going to stop things here in the near future, for the gaming community anyway. Both the PS3 and XBOX360 are supposed to be HD (sony claims the PS3 will be 1080p compatible), and microsoft is saying that all games for the 360 will be at least 720p. I even have a few games on my PS2 that are high-def, and I would never go back. Playing Gran Turismo 4 in full 1080i is spectacular.
