HDNet films in theater, on TV and DVD in the same day
Talk about serendipity (sorry, I just got "word of the day toilet paper"); we've got a poll asking if HDTV impacts your decisions to attend movie theaters. How timely is it that HDNet is working with Steven Soderbergh on high-def films that will be distributed in theaters, on HDNet and on home video at the same time?Soderbergh hasn't made friends with the movie theater operators, but then again; he makes the films that they show for a profit! Mark Cuban from HDNet and Soderbergh not only realize that consumers want choice, but they both have the strength to take a stand and swim against the current. It's smart business as well: why lose potential revenues from piracy when you can make money in all three venues right up front?

Sign me up for this one. If I could tivo the movie and watch it when ever I want than that would be the perfect service for me. Of course there might be some social issues that might start forming if we go this route of getting everything we want at home. Americans tend to lean towards being a bit of an isolationist.
