Does Samsung know something we don't?

Ether Samsung knows something we don't or there's going to be cheaper LCDs this Christmas then we thought. Samsung plans to bump up production of their 40-inch LCD panels. This announcement was made one day before iSuppli industry analysis that the LCD market is flooded and not going anywhere. Perhaps Samsung is going to reconsider pumping out 200,000 40-inch panels a month in light of this report.
Who knows, maybe a cheap 40-inch LCD is what I need in my life.

What none of these reports of a glut seem to take into account is that once the prices come down just a little more, there is a lot of pent up demand for these TVs.
There are a lot of people who've been waiting for prices to come down to around $1500 to get a flat panel, and I can imagine a lot more people who didn't mind paying $5k for the home theater centerpiece would love to add one or two more in the other rooms of the house at the right price.
I'm guessing Samsung and others are thinking the same thing and just looking to get ahead of the curve.
