CEATEC 2005: SED

This is the booth that I made me contemplate sitting in a plane for 20 hours and making the trek to Japan. I guess I will just have to stare at these pictures and count the days till CES arrives. Canon and Toshiba have a winner on their hands with SED and they had tons of them out in the wild to peep. In case you had forgotten, SED is based off the same technology that is used in tube TVs and produces a 100,000:1 contrast ratio. The image is apparently breathtaking and I guess I have to wait till January to see them at CES.

Based off of a CRT w/ 100,000:1 contrast ratio? Are you kidding me! Bye bye DLP, LCOS, etc. etc. I've heard from somebody who's seen a prototype that it is the most 3D, bright, lifelike, razor sharp picture he's every seen! I'll be at CES in January too! My first time. I can't wait to see SED.
