"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
We all should be upset with the TV manufactures becease they are including items such as cableCard in to the TV. TVs should be dumb, nothing more than a monitor. The features that drive the monitor should be connected, but not integrated. The concept of the STB is a spin off of an attempt by several companies to make the TV features an external device in the early and mid 80’s. Anybody remember the MultiVision, the first device to have PIP and allow a stereo conection to an AV source. Of coarse if nobody is following this philosophy, then they can include the features and charge you for them.
