Triple-tuner DIRECTV media center

In a move to change the Picture-In-Picture (PIP) acronym to PIPIP, DIRECTV looks to equip their own brand of PVR with three tuners. Deets are sketchy, but it's a good bet that the box will have two satellite and one ATSC tuner. Hey, other boxes have that now but what about media center capabilities thanks to the expected networking function? Ooohh, I think my two HDTVs just smiled.
Based on the pics so far, I don't see a type of jack that's missing here. We've got USB, HDMI, components, composites, analogs, optical, you name it. Smart move on DIRECTV's part since not everyone has a digital set just yet. The best part of all: the unit appears to be both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compatible and fully software upgradeable. On paper this sounds like a great digital transition device; we'll camp out on DIRECTV's doorstep and watch for more info.

Am I the only one who doesnt use PIP and dont care about it at all?
You obviously care enough to let us know you don't use it.
I never understood people who complain about features they don't want. How much cheaper could it possibly be without it?
Personally I don't use the PIP much but when I do it comes in handy. Like watching two sporting events at the same time. Sports are one of those things that most people want to watch LIVE. What would be really cool is if you could PIP a playback and a live event at the same time. Then during the comercials while watching your favorite team you could playback another show.
I am still skeptical that the DVR will not live up to my Tivo. I hope I am wrong but past experiences have me wondering.
