Blu-ray Disc Association: Mandatory Managed Copy in, iHD (maybe) out
That's their decision according to this Reuters article. The BDA has decided to include Mandatory Managed Copy as a part of the Blu-ray spec, but while iHD is "being considered", they plan on going forward with only Sun's BD-J standard for interactive content. HP is sticking to their guns however, saying that if both features are not implemented, they could end up supporting both, and displaying both formats at trade shows.Okay Blu-ray, so you're going ahead with the Spring 2006 launch, but you don't know what features you're going to be launching with? As if early adopters didn't have it bad enough, I think it's safe to say most of us will want to look at first gen Blu-ray players with a very jaded eye. Plus now we can wait for another hilarious Toshiba press release about how this is good for HD-DVD, you've gotta love it.

Why not support another interactive layer? Only reason I can think of is to prevent the furthur delay of the product. I wish there was more information on iHD and why HP is backing it.
I say take your time and get it right.
The great news is mandatory managed copy. This is a win for consumers.
HP is backing it because it'll be part of Windows Vista. Therefore you won't need to install any additional software when you plop an HD-DVD disc into your computer. That won't be the case with BD-J, where you will have to install software to view the content.
Henning you Jack ass! Windows Vista doesn't come with HD-DVD that support out of the box. You'll have to wait via Service Pack.
PS HDbeat is full of fucking MS retards, no support for Blu-ray, cause its SONY/NEC made that support 1080p.
And for Gods sake you say you love everything HD while 360 doesn't support HDMI or 1080p! Whats up with that?
