HD Easter Egg from Earl: part two!

That's it, I have to start recording "My Name is Earl" on the high-def Windows Media Center PC we're building. According to HD Beat reader, Greg, last week's episode had yet another HDTV "easter egg"! If you're not sure what we mean, check out our pic and post on the first one.
Greg tells us about the hidden HD treat: "In
a scene with Beau Bridges as Earl's Dad running for mayor, he's
standing in front of a table with multiple campaign signs in the
background. At the far left side of the screen, one of the signs
says 'Carl Hickey loves hi def'."Let's face it, the real platform Carl is running on is: "Widescreen high-definition for everyone!" If you're not watching in high-def, you're missing out on five times the resolution and the laughs. "Earl" has my vote!

Very cool! Too bad neither of my TiVo's can handle HD, which means I watch House live in that same time slot while Earl gets recorded in SD for later viewing. Maybe I need to build me a HD MCE box like you are.
I'm never looking for those things when I watch the show. My wife and I are laughing too much. Great find though.

I think that this is awesome but also the sign next to the hi-def easter egg which reads "Honk for peace and quiet". Isnt that an oxymoron. Honking...peace and quiet...Honk for peace and quiet?!?!? what?
wow. I checked this show after seeing it in HD at Best Buy, and then reading all the comments on this blog. It was absolutely terrible. The jokes weren't funny and the show seemed to be carried entirely by overzealous mugging by the lead character. Which makes me think that the show would actually look WORSE in HD. Kind of like when you get really close to synchronized swimmers - the makeup is meant to be seen far away. I recommend Arrested Development, shown on Fox HD, and which has a million more less-blatant easter eggs, both visual and mental. New episode on 5 Dec.
You have to watch my name is earl from the beginning. You have missed a lot that has happened. Dont judge any show based on one episode you just watched in the middle of a season.
I could swear that I have yet to see an episode of Earl broadcast in HD yet....of course, our local NBC affiliate still has to manually 'flip the HD switch.' Maybe the operator isn't a fan. Keep coming with the Easter Eggs...they're hilarious!
You know, I gave Earl a try, but just didn't find it funny at all. The whole white trash thing was more of a turn-off than funny. Just didn't seemed too unrealistic, I don't know. I cancelled my season pass a few weeks ago. Funny enough, I actually enjoy The Office a lot more. Guess it's just my taste. :)
