The best explanation of 720p vs. 1080i EVER.

I don't know if this will calm the flames of war, but our friend Neopoleon discusses the finer technical points of the 720p vs. 1080i debate in a way only possible through the usage of Oompa Loompas and dope-smoking hobbits (love that pipe weed).

Certainly is a different way of explaining it, but some people would understand this much easier than using "tech speak"
I think my explanation last week was perfect for everybody including the novice....after i posted, somebody replied that i left out the whole issue of 60fps...??? I intentionally left it out....For most people, it's not about 24, 30, or 60 fps...it's explaining how they can see the difference....and yes, there is a big difference....true videophiles prefer 720p...while 1080p is the next step, most people will never experience it....the tv stations will never broadcast in 1080p...unless of course mpeg-4 allows for it....the newest generation hd-dvd, blu-ray might not support it in the first generation...and most of all, just about all of the newest tv's that are native 1080p, can't accept a true 1080p input anyway....it's got a long way to go!
