Blu-Ray DVD player coming from LG in 2nd quarter

And here we go! The race for high capacity optical disc players is starting. LG is going to be one of the first out of the gate with the BD199, their first Blu-Ray disc player. They plan to have this player out for show and tell at CES this year, where I'm sure we are going to find a ton of its brothers and sisters.

Apple called this "Year of HD' but I have a strong feeling that we haven’t seen anything yet. CES starts in just a few weeks and there are going to be many players like this. Early adaptors need to get their checkbooks ready and the rest of us will get ours the following year.

Pricing and available have not been announced yet but will be available before CES. More updates to come.

I really didn't expect LG to come first in this race, but hey, in the world of HDTV, expect the unexpected.
