CMC, Ritek float bonds to fund Blu-ray/HD-DVD production
Just a reminder, consumers aren't the only ones taking a risk on next generation DVD's. These companies are making
very big bets on who to support, and how much. Guess wrong and have inventory sitting in warehouses or on store
shelves, the company could go under. Who do format wars really benefit? Retailers?

It benefits the manufacturers who are presently making making Standard DVDs. They know the 'war' prolongs the existance of the SD-DVD. Maybe if enough of these companies and consumers wait until the war is over before they choose to buy into any format, this 'war' will end 'before it starts', niether format winning out and we can go right into HVDs (or will Sony start it's own HVD format?)
