DIY, 25 days till Super Bowl...are you ready
We're sure you have the keg on reserve and the food all planed out. You might have the decorations ready and the
seating all arranged. But do you have the HDTV yet?The big game deserves a big screen. We ran a series of buying guides before Christmas that will still apply so you might want to check these out:
- Choosing the right size
- Choosing the right kind
- Xbox 360 edition
- Extended warranties
- Adding better sound
If your TV does not have one of these HD tuners in it, you will be forced to get ABC from cable or satellite. Most cable companies have an HD lineup that includes high-def ABC. Satellite, however, is just now starting to send high definition local stations, with DirecTV leading the way in their top markets. Although Dish Network has a large HD lineup, they don't offer any local HD stations yet.

I'm ready, unfortunately the Denver ABC affilliate is only broadcasting HDTV from a temporary transmitter with a range of about 6 blocks.
I have everything set up for this game:
42" Sony HDTV
6.1 surround
Terk OTA antenna and cable HD pack for backup.(Austin has great OTA HDTV though)
Costco membership for beer by the case and pallets of food product. Yeah! $18 cases of Spaten! woohoo!
The Rose Bowl was my super bowl warm up and it was a total success.
Hey what's up with CBS being plastered all over the Superbowl.com website...Did HD Beat make a goof??? Or is it REeeeALLY on ABC. This could mean the difference between progressive scan, and no progressive scan! *GASP* ZOMG!
No, ABC will have the Superbowl this year. You can check it out at http://www.nfl.com/schedules#post. Looks like CBSsportsline.com is what feeds a lot of the data for the superbowl.com site.
JTeague...I do not know what your were looking at but your link sent me to the NFL schedule that indicates that ABC will in fact have the superbowl.
