Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
These are the sad facts:
1. Dish is now downrezzing all the Voom HD channels to 1280x1080i for no apparent reason except that DirectTv did it so they can too. They actually have plenty of bandwidth to do real HD.
2. Dish is not going to actually transmit in mpeg4 until their techs can figure out how to utilize it properly, which may be a year from now.
3. Dish is forcing it's HD subscribers to upgrade to mpeg4 receivers by tagging the 5 new Voom channels, ESPN2HD, & UHD with mpeg4 headers, when in reality the video is mpeg2.
