DIY, SageTV beta adds placeshifting
We placeshift our HDTV with an Xbox
360, so this was interesting news to us. SageTV's newest beta (4.1.7 for you Sage-a-maniacs) now supports
placeshifting via a client called "SageTVPlaceshifter". Don't be disappointed in the name, what did you expect since the names "Orb" and "Slingbox" were already taken? We're guessing that you're not shifting HD content with this first version, but we all know that's where things are headed. Does anyone know the patron saint of "bandwidth" so we can light a candle?

I just watched a video of them showcasing this at (CES was it?)
Interesting feature and should be a hit among Sage fans... honestly, as silly as it sounds... one of the main reasons I don't use Sage is it's interface. Call me vain, but I just can't give up the slick animated Direct 3D interface of Windows Media Center. Come the day when Sage looks and feels like that... I will move over.
Feature wise, this is a gret feature and I am really glad they chose to use MPEG4 to get er' done. Good job Sage, keep the features commin'!
