Toshiba Takes HD-DVD on the Road
Toshiba is ramping up their marketing campaign in
anticipation of their late March release by continuing to
take HD-DVD on the road. Toshiba is bringing the HD-XA1 to 40 cities and over 130 stores thought the US and PC
World took a look. The demo includes some movie trailers as well as a HD vs SD comparison. My friend at the local Tweeter store is supposed to call me when he find out what day they are coming so that I can go check it out first hand. If we get our peepers on this, we'll check in with an update.

Do we have a list of Tour Citys?
I know what would really get people into HDDVD...
Sell the players at $150 for the first 48 hours of the release! I would buy one! (maybe more)
Or, Just give em away!
BMW.
Check this link for full details including tour dates and cities.

Ha, my store has had one for over a week.
It occasionally crashes (need to unplug and replug).
It is built like a tank, has a fancy remote, and looks really good (picture quality that it!)
While HD-DVD will be cheaper and will offer similar quality video to Blu-Ray(except for no 1080p for now), it has a huge disadvantage. Sony controls some of the major movie studios and so we won't be seeing movies like Spiderman and James Bond on HD-DVDs. That's a MAJOR reason why I wont be buying HD-DVDs.
