HDTV Listings for March 5, 2006
What we're watching: If you
were looking forward to the Oscars in high-def, we hate to disappoint you. Either Jon Stewart or the li'l gold guy
didn't want their wrinkles to show in HD. ABC has an hour of Oscar countdown
programming in 720p starting at 7 p.m., but once the big show starts, it's back to SDTV for Oscar. INHD2 will be covering the Red Carpet in 1080i at 5:30 p.m., so you can tune in early
for more of Hollywood in HD. Most of the networks have repeats up against the Oscars, so give "Spanglish" an early consideration on HBO-HD. The 1080i movie starring Adam Sandler kicks off at 6:45 p.m. Another alternative if you're really in an HD hardship is "Bad Boys II" on Fox at 7:30 p.m. in 720p starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith.
Our traditional high-def listings continue below.

Not sure where you are getting your information from but every place that I check says that the Oscars will be in HD and it would make no sense to have the red carpet in hd and everything else not, for everyone's sake I hope you are 1000% wrong.
These listings are the worst. What happened with NASCAR & NCAA?
even the NAACP awards on friday were in HD this would be a shame if they aren't
TitanTV is reporting the Academy Awards will be broadcast in 720P.
Yeah everything I have heard is that the show is in HD...
My channel guide (for Time Warnner cable in New Jersey) also says the main program will be in HD. It's usually accurate.
Channel 9 in Charlotte NC is broadcasting the show in HD. Looks Marvelous.
I'm glad someone in Charlotte gets to watch this in HD. I'm using OTA and 9-1 doesn't appear to be broadcasting.
i watched the oscars..in between the commmericals i flipped to fox 2 watch Bad Boys II..(which is great to watch in HD much better)..my only thing was during the middle of the movie..they switch back to standard definition...that really sucked..i'm just wondering why they did that?? any clues?
I watched the beginning of Bad Boys II but it didn't seem to be in HD. It looked better than SD, but it wasn't widescreen. Weird.
I watched the Oscars last night in full HD and it looked awesome! Almost as good as ABC's old Monday Night football games.
I purchased a 42" Hitachi last week and I now pick programs based upon HDTV programs.
I have a question whomever it may concern:) I have watched The Oscars for many years. Last November I moved to Holland where they don't show the Oscars. I feel absolutely miserable to have missed this year's event. My question is: can I watch the rerun on some TV channel or buy a DVD? I want to enjoy the show on my new HDTV!!!
