Breaking News: Blu-Ray now available for purchase - only $299

In a move that has stunned Toshiba and
excited HD lovers everywhere, Sony has just released their coveted Blu-Ray player. Best of all, they have undercut
Toshiba's price by releasing their player at whopping $299! This is simply astounding! We all knew that Sony had the
support of most of the movie studios, but no one excepted those studies to release so many titles. As I am
writing this, studios keep sending lists and lists of their release titles over the news feeds. We will get you a
complete list as soon as we can. This day simply could not get any better then I ran across what many of you called out
for: Penthouse's Blu-Ray edition collection! It appears that they took all the "classic" stuff, combined with
new material, and utilized all of Blu-Ray's capacity.
What could make today any better? Blu-Ray is here, it's cheap, and there are tons of titles (and porn). What a way to start the day!

I had forgotten that it was 1st of april at first, so I was a bit suprised. It could have been a killer move to release a bluray player now, at that price, for sony. But then I saw the price and check which day it was...

Haha....If I hadn't been fooled by an email from thinkgeek.com about new products that all turned out to be jokes, I would have been fooled here too.
At least I had my guard up against further jokes and didn't feel the terible let down I would have felt if I had bought this post at first.

That was very wishful thinking and very creative, but too creative. If you're gonna do something like that, you should have contacted all other major news sites e.g engadget, gizmodo and so on. What really blew it for me though was that the plasyer was just releasef, that was just too good to be true.
That's the only price that can possibly save this dual format debacle! PC downloads, the new mac mini and decent on-demand hd from will make people wonder why they need dvds (except for packaging collectors).
The real joke is on Sony, anyone who thinks they can sell a $1000 DVD player in these times IS A FOOL! Just wait, $299 will seem high before very long, months, not years. The silence at the cash registers will be deafening!

Very nice April Fools joke! I have been scouring the web searching for more news on this but to no avail. Somehow I missed the [April Fools].
Damnit, I already told this to like 10 people this morning. News sites doing April Fool's jokes is annoying.
I didn't even see it, because to me this is the only way Sony can win the format and console war, to release players for 100-200 less than the PS3, so I thought Sony was pulling their head out of their a** and doing something smart (I am a 90% Sony electronics owner, but I am fully aware Sony can be total idiots when it comes to business moves).
Real side-splitting stuff guys. That wasn't funny. I was ready to sell my Sony 301 discs DVD Jukebox; so I could pickup not one, but two blueray players. Fellas, I got "breathe in the paper bag" excited, while reading this article. For lack of a better term; I feel like I've just been "PUNKED".
