I was just listening to the comments about the Harry Potter movie in HD on Cable, and I've got to say that my cable company isn't cropping or downgrading the sound. I just watched the new Harry Potter on DVD, and my wife (who isn't a videophile) commented that it looked like crap. HD in my area is much better. I'll admit that it still has a ways to go (lots of compression artifacts in last nights broadcasting), but it's still better than DVD.
