Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow is made for HD

So, here I am watching Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow on Showtime and it is simply amazing. This movie is made for high definition. The depth of the "color" is what makes this so spectacular. This movie was made entirely in front of a "green screen" and the graphics were digital put in. There are no bright colors in the movie at all - well, besides the scene where Wizard of Oz is playing in the background. But that is what makes this movie so unique. True videophiles will love the deep, rich gray-tones that you just can't find anywhere else.
Showtime
loves to run the same movies over and over again, so I am sure that you will be able to check it out sooner or later.
Or...wait till the Blu-Ray
version is released.

oooh, I'll have to keep my eye open for this one. I bet it is nice in HD. It is a highly underated movie in my opinion.
It had better look good because the story is so bad! I've read better comic books, but I guess that's why they made it... I particularily like the cartoon physics.
That's the feel of "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," a strange but fun fantasy/action movie inspired by the likes of classic sci-fi comics like "Buck Rogers" and "Flash Gordan." The characters are essentially live-action people walking in front of green screen images, but it does all mesh together nicely, if not too nicely.
Hmm...perhaps this explains why I found the movie disappointing: I watched in on an airplane.
Sky Captain does indeed look good. It's just a shame the rest of the movie wasn't as well crafted.
Not that I would advocate this but the sky captain 1080i torrent has been floating arround for awhile.
I just had the same thought while watching Sin City! (Which was also entirely shot in front of a green screen.) I was just watching the upscaled DVD version on my 1080p Sharp Aquos LC-45GX6U, and it is by far the best DVD I have ever seen on this screen. Can't wait for the Blu-Ray version.
