The kicker for me, though, as a fan of Smallville is that Tom Welling is now Clark Kent / Superman and Michael Rosenbaum is Lex Luthor in my mind. Kevin Spacey is too well known as an actor to suspend my disbelief that he is Lex. Also, for as great as Spacey is, Rosenbaum is simply perfect in the role. He has been balancing intelligence and maniacal drive with the capability for evil bubbling just below the surface for years now.
