LCD and LCOS both have the really annoying "Screen Door Effect" where you see the vertical and horizontal lines in the screen. LCD even has the distracting "Ghosting Effect" when high speed things such as sports and videogames are used on them. DLP HDTV's are almost always the best, because there is no Screen Door Effect or Ghosting Effect. However, 5% of the population has a brain/eye negative ability that forces them to see the "Rainbow Effect" on DLP HDTV's that use a Color Wheel, and sadly, I am one of those people.

The LED DLP HDTV that eliminates the Color Wheel makes it so there is absolutely no Rainbow Effect. So, this means that there will FINALLY be an HDTV that doesn't have any sort of Ghosting Effect, Screendoor Effect, and there will be absolutely no possibility of a Rainbow Effect. I am very thankful for this; however, I am not going to spend all that money on an LED HDTV that only has a contrast ratio of 4000:1 and has only a 3 Line Comb Filter.

If Samsung wants my business, then they will have to release the HL-S5679W with the original 10,000:1 Contrast Ratio that they said it would have at the CES when it received the BEST TV AWARD.

I also want this HDTV to have a 3D Digital Comb Filter instead of the 3-Line Digital Comb Filter that isn't quite as good. Come on Samsung, you can do it! And please, use the same AWESOME design for the system exterior as your HL-S5687W Model; the hidden speaker is awesome! Those stupid looking HUGE speakers on the left and right of the Sony TV's is just plain dumb.

Michael Zoran

Comments on Samsung's LED DLPs now online - HL-S5679W

So when does it ship???
