Universal HD still on Comcast?
Universal HD disappeared from Comcast's HD line-up as quickly as it appeared after this years winter Olympic. Or did it? During last weeks podcast, Ben and I talked about this disappearing act in relation to to Comcast's addition of ESPN2HD - we were afraid that this station would also disappear after the World Cup. But reader Mark from Connecticut dropped us a note while he was watching UHD on his local Comcast feed. How many other people are receiving NBC's national HD channel? We simply hadn't heard that anyone still had the station on Comcast.

I live in Massachusetts and I have Universal HD. Comcast added the channel for the Winter Olympics then never took it away. I hope they do the same with ESPN 2.
Since comcast is regionally based, some regions seem to still have it. I recently moved across Connecticut, i had it where i was, now i don't, upsetting, i can't watch battlestar galactica in HD now. The region I moved into now uses the hated SA boxes vs. the Moto I had before.
Jersey City, NJ - No UniversalHD (which means no Knight Rider in HD)... and I don't expect them to keep the Deuce in HD either. Comcast has been nothing but trouble and I am willing to sacrifice my first born for Fios.
Is showing daily HD Listings dependent upon if Comast carries the station or not?
Here in our DC UHD is still on and at least no stretch-o-vision.
As mentioned in the Boston area we never lost UHD. Comcast has also added ESPN2HD, MHD (MTV HD) and NESN-HD in the past few weeks so we are up to 20 HD channels. Now all we need is more content...
Same situation as #1. Still have it in Boston.
I'm in The Bay Area and I had it for the olympics and then it was gone
From what I have read on the local AVS forum(confirmed by viewing the Comcast lineup) Universal HD is still on in Baltimore, MD.
Here in the Seattle area we've never had UHD on Comcast to the best of my knowledge. Recently we lost INHD2. A Comcast rep claims that the "network" took INHD2 away, for what reason he didn't know, perhaps to consolidate programing with INHD1 - pretty standard customer service hot air. When I asked if ESPN2HD would be added (Seattle wasn't listed in the press releases I saw) he replied "already done - ch. 174" - and so it is.
Lost UHD in Miami. Hoping ESPN2HD sticks around though...
Okay, now I'm mad. From reading this talkback, DC and Baltimore both still havd UHD. I live in Montgomery County, MD (a suburb of DC and 30 minutes from Baltimore) and I don't have it. Oh, how I hate thee, Comcast: let me count the ways!
Comcast Dallas had UHD but it was taken away and has not returned. We also don't have ESPN2HD either. I'm wondering if this is related to the fact that Comcast's Dallas market will eventually be given to Time Warner.
Here in the Cherry Hill Twp. of New Jersey (which I think the district is all of south jersey, and some parts of philly) we had UHD for the Winter Olympics for the first time ever. Then 2 days after they finished, UHD was taken away and never seen again. It was awesome watching Battlestar Galactica in HD though, same with Knight Rider!
This is just like in Pittsburgh when we got NFLHD in time for SuperBowl coverage, and then right after the big game, local Comcast dropped NFLHD. Here's hoping they pick it back up in time for the season and that we don't lose ESPN2HD right after the World Cup. Does Comcast save a ton of money by adding and shaving off these HD channels at specific times? We want more, not less HD! A Verizon FIOS is right around the corner - get it right Comcast!
