I understand people who have difficulties receiving OTA but they must be the minority. I have two antennas in my attic and I receive both Miami stations and West Palm Beach stations. No. But I am debating to switch to Comcast, even though I really prefer DTV in both service and quality. But DISH certainly has many more HD national channels than DirectTV, and DirecTV is unlikely to be adding many more until their DVR is ready. DirecTV did recently add in-market only HD baseball games coded in MPEG4 and transmitted via spotbeam. These games are not HDTiVo compatible.

Some of the DISH channels are from the VOOM service, but recently HGTV and Food Network annouced HD broadcast, and at least HGTV-HD is on DISH now.

Now that TiVo's series III for cable service is almost ready, I'm almost ready to roll over to that technology anyway.

lutton

Comments on DIRECTV HD DVR delay official?

I was one of the first 100 to have DirecTV east of the hudson river in New England so I have been with them a long time I went with DirecTVio as soon as they offered it and now I own 2 HD DirecTVio machines.... the HD 10-250 has been a good unit for me and I live where there is no over the air HD TV... so for me it is DirecTV or DISH. But given the very slow introduction of HD programing the question of if I stay or jump to DISH will I expect come down to how they treat me when the time comes to be forced to move to the new non TiVo HD receivers... I also do not want to give up the TiVo interface that is now second nature to me... If after trying one of the new boxes and I do not like it I expect I will move to dish to get more programing choice as I will have to learn a new interface anyway...

Windy

Comments on DIRECTV HD DVR delay official?

It won't make me jump to Dish, but once my year is up on my HDTivo that I got from dtv, I may have to look at going to digital cable harder. *shudder*.
