DIY, Do not not do any of these items on this 'Do Not' list
There are just something's in the high-def/home theater world that a person should not do and this 'Do Not' list sums it up rather nicely. Read this list and heed what it says. Some of these items might be harder to do then what it sounds but trust us, your equipment and eyes/ears will thank you. A few of you might laugh at this list as you had been following these rules since AM radio was the norm, but there are some freshmen here too so, deal with it. Moreover, a refresher course never hurt anyone. Trust us, this list is well worth your time.

AC unit? I have no idea what circuit my AC house unit uses but not one of my HDTVs gets a dim picture when the AC cycles on.

Do not turn off your receiver unless the volume has been turned down all the way.
I always thought that the centralized AC units were on circuits of their own. At least that is how the wiring and electrical panel shows it.
One could always invest in an isolation transformer.
