An unbiased guide to buying a plasma
Buying a plasma can be more daunting than (did I get that right Steve and Marc) purchasing a new car. There are so many new players in this market, plus generally accept second-tier manufacturers like Samsung and LG are major players in this field. Brian Mitchell has posted a rather nicely laid out guide to buying a plasma TV over at eCoustics forums. He gives a shopper the option of choosing the set based on model number, viewing distance, resolution, or even price range. Sometimes these sets come with different proprietary technology like LG's XD Engine or Samsung's DNIe and even those are explained. If you are in the market for a plasma TV, take a look at this guide to get a rather nice idea what's currently available. For a complete overview of the different type of HDTVs available, you may want to peep our HDTV Buying Guide: Choosing the right kind.

Oh, sweet mother of God ... the word is "unbiased"! To have a bias is to be biased, so to not have a bias is to be unbiased.
You are improving Matt ;)
Samsung and LG second-tier manufactuers??? i doubt that. I haven't read this buying guide, because either A i can't find it or/and B i don't want to. But knowing how this always goes, i'm 99.99% sure this so-called "unbiased" guide will recomend Panasonic over all the other brands.
I think we web surfers got more than enough with the Panasonic freaks-fan-club over at the [[http://www.AVS forum.com]] Goodness, Panasonic couldn't have pay for better publicity than the trash-talking-the-other-brands promotion they get at the AVS forum.
The biggest problem with marketing electronics is the industry-accepted practice to lie about the performance capabilities for a given parameter. For instance, claiming that your display can achieve 10,000 to 1 contrast ratio on a plasma is like claiming a side capability of spinning cotton into gold. Never going to happen.
LG is the market leader in Plasma TV sales with over 31% share of the Plasma market, how is it second tier?
Ben - "plus generally accept second-tier manufacturers like Samsung and LG are major players in this field."
Um, Ben. I didn't say they were second-tier plasma makers at all.
