Yup. We couldn't break the staffers for an exact release date of the Pioneer BDP-HD1 Elite Blu-ray player, but they did say "within weeks." We'll take that as it is right on with the fall release that they have been stating for sometime now. The unit hasn't been put-off without cause though as Pioneer is shooting for a error-free launch. They want this first-gen device not to preform like on and that is what the whole Blu-ray camp needs. The Samsung Blu-ray unit was a pimple on the ass of Blu-ray and that just isn't Pioneer's style.
We'll tell you what Pioneer, take your time and get it right the first time. We will wait...but not to long.

I wonder if the player will in fact support DTS-HD. Early pics of it showed the logo on it and the press release on Pioneer's website says it does. But on the specifications on that site, Pioneer did not mention DTS-HD nor did it have the logo on the picture
