You consider $179 for an ATSC tuner cheap? I think you need to keep in mind that 27" boob-tubes with integrated ATSC tuners go for about $279. In fact, you could get three ATSC tuner cards for a PC (or three PC's) for $180.
If someone is looking for a standalone ATSC tuner they should consider the used market. I bough one for $50.
I don't see a firewire/1394 logo. Am I correct in assuming there's no firewire port? I looked around but couldn't find reference to anything other than clear-QAM and HDMI support.
Well it is less cost than the Sir T451 that it is replacing so I will give you that, but I would not mind a under $100.00 price seeing as built in ATSC tuners are becoming standard.
Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the 451 have QAM ?So seeing as this unit has QAM is nothing new. Also I have read that this unit will be using a later generation Chip set then the 451.
Also I believe this unit is smaller than the 451.
If Samsung really wanted to do things correctly they would use radio remote instead of infrared. I don't know about anyone else but I really think STB is a misnomer as you sure can't set this unit on top or underneath most tv's these days and as such I would be putting it in a cabinet and would than appreciate wireless.

Just added one of these to my 8 year old 36" JVC TV, hooked up to the component inputs, and I have to say that it is like night and day.
Reception in Chicago is always tricky with lots of multipath interference - but this tuner gets around all that - I get rock solid reception on all available channels. Much better than the PC based ATSC tuner card I have.
This really is a great performing unit with enough features to keep most everyone happy.
