Ah, another Blu-ray player player. Philip's BDP9000 is coming "third quarter" at a price of $999. Anything else you need to know? 1080p HDMI output, memory card slots and it plays Blu-ray discs - 50GB included.

I've decided to blacklist Philips for developing a technology that would prohibit DVR users from FF/Skipping commercials in timeshifted conditions. First, they develo the technology and say they don't plan on releasing it, and secondly, they turn around and implement it via licensing.

Never again will I trust that company. Banned! I do not doubt their Blu-ray player will present a situation in which any 'fluff' on a BD disk cannot be skipped.
