Just because you have the clout to assimilate, doesn't mean you have to be redundant too. Heck I'm not even getting a different slant on the same story here.

HDBeat was a 9 on my 10 scale as far as getting unique HD news from enthusiasts, now it's definatly a 7 and dropping.

yyz

Comments on DirecTV, Intel to connect DVRs with Viiv PCs

Word

keenan

Comments on DirecTV, Intel to connect DVRs with Viiv PCs

Dudes, this is a free blog w/ pretty darn good info. True, I liked the ole HDBeat format better, but who cares - we're still getting the info! It's not like these guys make big $$$ running this site - it's all free for us to enjoy at our leasure! Comment on the story, not the site! If you don't like it, don't come here!

Tom

Comments on DirecTV, Intel to connect DVRs with Viiv PCs

My comment on this story is that it is 100% redundant of version in the site I just left (Engadget).

I would prefer to see Engaget divide their subjects from a primary web page. For example:
http://www.cdrinfo.com/
http://8dimensional.com/
among others.

And, although it would be sad, they could easily just do away with what used to be HDBeat and assimilate the primary contributors' efforts. Maybe have a HD-only section on their main site or a link from a closely related main page news story to an HD-only sub-section. Yes, the HD news casts are unique and I'll keep following the primary contributors of HDBeat, but the way Engadget is cross selling their news stories is wasting millions of seconds of people's time.

I will be back here for sure, after all it's still a 7 :).

yyz
