Sony Pictures isn't the only Blu-ray studio
producing the elusive BD-50 discs, Warner and Paramount has confirmed that they too have dual-layer Blu-ray movies coming out soon. Two of the seven titles
Warner announced yesterday, The Searches and Unforgiven, are going to be encoded on the 50GB flavors along with World Trade Center from Paramount. These titles mark the first commitment from both studios to the higher capacity discs. While we know the Warner titles are coming out on October 31, there isn't any release info just yet for World Trade Center but as always, we'll let you know once we hear something.
Actually, they're not the first BD50s announced by Warner. "Superman Returns" was announced as a BD50 a couple weeks ago.
Are you kidding me? A great movie like Unforgiven, and it is not going to be on HD-DVD? I mean it is OK if cheesy movies like Ultra Violent come out on Blu-Ray but not great epic films like this one.
I hate investing in Sony media. Everytime I do I feel like I need to buy some sort of insurance so that when it flops in two years I am not stuck with a load of crap! My MS-PRO Duo works great in my PSP but that is about it, and do not get me started on the two movies I have on UMD. I barely remember BetaMax as a child but I know my uncle bought into it and got stuck holding not but a big pile of junk he could not barely give away!
Unforgivin has been on HDDVD for some time now, if you like the movie and have the player you can get it now!
