When you can get an HD-DVD player for less than $400." You'll even get lossless audio NOW, instead of with the Blu-Ray favorite motto, "We'll be good LATER."

Xyzzy

Comments on Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray player reviewed

to xyzzy i totally agree i have a HD-DVD player and i love it. Yes it's a bit slow to load up but it looks amazing. But what i meant is if he has to have blu-ray go with the PS3 seeing how SOny has mentioned there wil be few PS3's but even FEWER blu-ray player seeing how they are having problems developing the blu-ray diode and want to concentrate on the PS3 more then the standalone players.

Also don't forget that you can get a HD-DVD player for the XBox 360 for just $200 with a free copy of King Kong is the report was true which is sweet. King Kong wil look awesome in HD. I think HD-DVD has MUCH better movies. I have already more then 20 like Enter the Dragon, Willy Wonka (old and new), Batman Begins, Serenity and lots more. Also coming soon what i can't wait for is MATRIX is HD will be awesome and look super sweet.

Phoenixxx1974

Comments on Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray player reviewed

If you ouput a 1080p bluray move to a 1080p TV there would be no loss of PQ. In this situation PS3 can't be any less of a bluray player than a stand alone machine.

TheNatural

Comments on Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray player reviewed

Yet another stand alone Blu-Ray player that is DOA. I'm amazed the Blu-Ray effort is even alive. I mean, $1300 for a player? That only has a dozen or so titles, some of which I already have? The PS3 has a lot riding on it's little shoulders, I think.

The fact is this: both formats just aren't as valuable to the general market like DVD was over VHS. Improved picture quality for the %15 of customers in the US who have TVs to support it is not the same leap that all of DVD's features brought to the table. I suspect it will be another year before there's any movement for either format.

WizarDru

Comments on Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray player reviewed

I like the fact that these idiots sony fanboys can't afford a blu ray play, yet they seem to defend it over HD DVD which has clearly shown that it's superior in terms of price, picture, sound, reliability, movies quantity, availability and it's already in it's 2nd gen (3rd gen with Xbox 360 HD DVD?). Why are you so hell bend to defend a format that you CAN'T AFFORD!!!!
