And until I see reviews with data stating that bluejeans or bettercables is better than monoprice.com then I will assume monoprice in simply the best option. You just can't beat their prices and I have no reason to assume their quality is less then adequate as I have quite a few HDMI cables, an DVI>HDMI adapter, HDMI 5x1 HDMI switch and have never had an issue with their products. And you simply can not beat their prices. Engadget may like bluejeancables but their prices aren't that spectacular.

Monster is simply average product with a 500% mark up.

Rick Lyon

Comments on Monster PS3 HDMI cable price: $100

I also hope Engadget was being facetious when saying the $99 price was low, low for a lousy 6' feet of cable. You can find quality hdmi cables for $35 or less. The price on Monster products is pure margin, with any extra costs going to marketing as opposed to quality and quality control. With the PS3 you're not stuck into having to buy hdmi cables from Sony or Monster or anyone else. And your PS2 component out works with the PS3 as well. Not as good as including component out in the box but not bad either.

agent864

Comments on Monster PS3 HDMI cable price: $100

As we've mentioned on the site before, digital cables only carry correct data, or none at all. There is no way to "improve" the quality of a digital signal, so buying cables for a huge markup over other brands is only worth it if you really, really like the feel of the physical cable -- or something.

For what it's worth, I bought and used monoprice cabling for my recent Olevia LCD review, and I was really impressed with both signal and cable build quality, especially for the cost. They never have anything bad to say about a company. When was the last time they said something bad about Monster, Bose, etc., etc., etc.? Sorry, this is an ad-in-ad website and nothing should be taken beyond the make and model availability of a product or service. I agree 100% about monoprice, but don't expect the likes of Engadget to say anything (let alone nice) about that company (so I will, 24 AWG 10-footer for about $21)!

GhostDoggy

Comments on Monster PS3 HDMI cable price: $100

Luckily, we linked to a post about monoprice in this post, so anyone who is looking "where to find cables for less" should be able to find our previous post about them, and all the comments from satisfied buyers.
