Both consoles are cool. The PS3 does have a dearth of standout games though.
HDMI 1.3 is ok. Deep Color has to be supported by both end devices. You don't magically get better color. Passing native hirez codecs is nice but that may take a while and an expensive AVR before you're enjoying that.
The PS3 is a great deal. There's a reason why it's BoM is most likely $800. It has a lot of stuff in it.
