HD DVD and Blu-ray releases on Janurary 30th, 2007
Another week of the format war passes and while Universal eased many concerns in the HD DVD camp, we still don't have any new dates so we will have to just wait and see. Warner continues to lead the way in both camps this week with Beerfest and The Wicker Man, both worth catching. Fox pulls out a few catalog titles, but nothing to brag about. With only one week to go before the two camps are tied in the titles count category there is no end in sight to this war and we are starting to wonder what it would take for Universal, Fox or Disney to change sides.HD DVD 156 vs Blu-ray 152.

Did you read everything on this site, if not you should, blu-ray just has a little boost (of old titles by the way) companies wanna make money and when they will get that sony's blu-ray is a rip-off believe me you will see some change. HDDVD will have the last word. 01june2007.
Prices of HD DVD players will still draw more consumers which will lead to more future releases of HD DVD movies.
Well said mike, couldn't say better. Just wait a few more months when those company will see that they losing money.
@1 Bye Bye Hd-dvd? I don't know about you but I see that list and I see some pretty "Crappy movie titles." Where are the true block buster titles? oh by the way humpty that number of blue-ray will get burned later. Did you hear 100 Plus tv and movie shows coming from Universal! Oh and they're Dual-Combo, nothing like playing my movie on any dvd player. :p
"Did you hear 100 Plus tv and movie shows coming from Universal!"
Did you hear 100 coming from Sony alone! Not counting Disney, Fox, and LGF! Nice try!
"Oh and they're Dual-Combo, nothing like playing my movie on any dvd player. :p"
It's too bad that even most HD fans consider combos too expensive.
Ohhhhhhh so scary humpty.
hd dvd is falling every day!
1,55 Million PS3 players http://vgcharts.org/ , and more than 200 000 Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer and Samsung players VS 178000 hd dvd players.

I love it, Dave! When HD-DVD was kicking BD's ASS for 9 months, all BD fanboys said was, "That site is biased, it doesn't count!" Now that the rankings are neck-and-neck, BD fanidiots, err, fanboys say, "Look, we're winning!" Gimme a break.
Engadgethd loses credibility for this statement: "Warner continues to lead the way in both camps this week with ... The Wicker Man, ... worth catching"
If Warner has decided to waste $ on deploying The Wicker Man in *any* format, I now count them out as any sort of factor in the format war.

Give us material worth buying.
B,
Sorry you misunderstood, we meant they lead the way because the have released more titles than anyone and continue to release more titles. The statement is based on quantity not necessarily quality which is obviously debatable.
The site is still hd dvd biased! The stats are way better for Blu-ray but they dont show it. The gap grows with every day and i dont see any signs slowing down.
Wrong site, dude. It's EProductWars that's biased. Every time Blu-ray has taken the lead, they've done stuff like flip the charts so the the bottom is now the top, add stock tables, or change from good statistics (30 days) to bad (24 hrs).
And for those that are saying there's no blockbusters: Casino Royale, Mr and Mrs Smith, and Layer Cake are little more than a month away, with tons of old but good guaranteed moneymakers like Dances With Wolves, Reservoir Dogs, and the Usual Suspects in the next couple of weeks. Not to mention that Warner and Paramount have got a bunch of goodies that they're sharing.
What exclusives does HD DVD have? Hollywoodland? Woo! That'll burn up the charts. Just like last year when it made less than $15M in theaters at #134.
I hope Universal comes to BD soon. I just ordered a PS3. I saw one at a friend's home and I was floored. It has more features than other stand alone BD players. I am not too thrilled by HD-DVD.
