I discovered that if you use online distribution, you can *easily* return and get a refund for the product.

Because of element5's contract with CyberLink, if the software does not work for you, you are entitled to a full refund. When you call, element5 will ask you for your order #, and then they will tell you they are going to notify CyberLink - who should contact you within 2 days. Wait 2 days, and if you don't hear from CyberLink, call element5 again. They will then instantly refund your account, no questions asked.

I returned my player, and will wait for a better solution in the future.

I will say that I decided to buy it since the "express" version came with my camcorder as part of the software bundle included with it.
I decided to buy the download version and after installing it immediately failed to load the second or three clips giving a totally unfriendly error message. Their cyberlink's) customer support team has tried to help me with no success at all (by the time I am writing this comment I am on the third day of contact with their customer support, I will most likely go and buy some other software for video editing (suggestions are welcomed).

I am convinced that this company (as many out there) is putting out a very expensive piece of vapor ware!!!
Do not spend $100 on this, you will use it better if you buy a good bottle of wine instead.
