Actually, anyone who knew what they were talking about would have said CRT, if talking picture quality above all else. Both LCD and Plasma are getting closer, but you'll still hear the best of the best talked about as having "near CRT quality."
Of course, screen size is the limiting factor with CRT, that's why the "above all else" qualifier must come into play.
Here's hoping SED gets out of lawsuit purgatory. It promises the best of both worlds: virtually unlimited screen sizes, ultra thin displays, and CRT-inspired technology for the PQ.
