Samsung's M55 laptop gets HD DVD burner upgrade
Samsung's M55 laptop has already been tricked out with Blu-ray and HD DVD players, but the company doesn't seem to have run out of HD goodies just yet, now adding an HD DVD burner to its lineup of portable high def offerings. Apart from that notable addition, the laptop also comes loaded with a Core 2 Duo T7200 processor in place of the earlier model's T2500, along with 2GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, a GeForce 7600 graphics card with 256MB of VRAM and, of course, that same big 1920x1200 17-inch display. As you can no doubt guess, all that largess comes at quite a cost, with the laptop setting you back the local equivalent of $3,200. Competing for those HD dollars is Toshiba's recently announced HD DVD burner-equipped Qosmio G30 laptop, which PC World reports went on sale in Japan over the weekend, demanding an equally pricey $3,085.Read - Akihabara News, Samsung M55

"what happened to your March and April lineup of Fox/MGM movies? Every single one pulled but 2 and only reason given being "technical difficulties.""
We have about 25 other movies to choose from, smartass. What do you have, 10?
I think piracry has got some of the release being delayed on both sides. I read that there's a time limit on the key revocation.
People seem to quickly forget how Sony has tried before to monopolize the market with its formats. Sony’s only goal with Blu-Ray is simply to leverage a proprietary format onto the world. Sony even went to desperate measures with installing a rootkit on its music CDs. Its true Blu-Ray has backing from just about every major studio but how did Sony win them over and at what price?
Sony enticed more support from the studios because they made their format more studio-friendly in terms of DRM. Sony does not have the consumer in mind and neither does the movie studios. Let’s face it BluRay was developed with the shareholders in mind. Sony has a lot more invested in Blu-Ray simply because it owns its own studios.
Attention Fanboys,
Whether you're a Blu-ray fanboy or an HD-DVD fanboy is irrelevant. This story is good news for fanboys of all orientations. Me, personally, I'm BOTH an HD-DVD fanboy and a Blu-ray fanboy. I like each format equally and support both. They're both great formats and they both make me a happy little fanboy.
