This is an interesting subject that hasn't really been addressed by the companies involved in the consumer, amateur side of the business. For instance, I remember Jobs mentioning the "year of HD" too, and later I was also enthusiastic about them participating in the Bluray group, even tough close to 2 years have gone by, and I'm still waiting for a 24" iMac with Bluray burner so I can edit and save the 20+ HDV tapes I've filmed since... Come on Stevie...!!!
