Finally. We had no idea that any HD provider nationwide didn't offer
Discovery HD Theater as part of their high-def lineup. Simply amazing. This was that station HD was created for. High definition and Discovery goes together like Steve Job and black turtlenecks. Anyways, the station along with National Geographic HD is now available on Cablevision's nationwide network. They say that the channels have been added with no additional cos so check 'em out on channel 727 for Discovery and 726 for National Geo HD if you happen to have Cablevision.
It's not even the only one. Adelphia (now Time Warner) does not offer Discovery HD as part of it's line-up. Maybe that will change now that it is technically Time Warner, but nothing else has changed since the buyout, so I'm not exactly holding my breath.
It's about damn time!
ABOUT FREAKING TIME!
The former Adelphia areas in the North East region are getting, if not already have Discovery HD and National Geographic from Comcast, however they will lose HD Net/HD Net Movies as Comcast won't carry those.
I'm so glad I don't get CableVision anymore. My parents are still stuck with it but they don't even know the difference.
I didn't know cablevision had a nationwide network? :)
Now, all they need to add is ESPN2 HD, HD NET, all all those other HD channels that we dont have yet
Wish they would quit stalling and bring the FOOD HD and TRAVEL HD channels already!
Cablevision is a bunch of money hungry bastards...They need to add NFL NETWORK HD, ESPN2 HD, MTV HD, and any other HD channels out there. They did the same thing when the YES network came out a few years back. Waiting till last minute to do everything. Once Verizon FIOS comes to my town i'm saying bye bye to cablevision!
