It makes a lot of sense for Blu-ray to declare victory in the format war. I'm sure there are loads of consumers who are waiting for the format war to end before really picking a side (or even spending time finding out what the heck Blu-ray and HD-DVD is). Telling consumers that your format has won the war might make them think they can trust in the longevity of Blu-ray.
A silly tactic to those of us who are knowledgeable, but I wonder if it will have an effect for the majority of people who are not.
