Wow they first generation was only available for a few months. More resolution is nice though. I'm reading pretty good things about the performance of AVCHD cameras.
For me it'll come down to 3 cams.
The SD based AVCHD Panny camera The Canon HV20 HDV tape based camera The JVC HD7 Everio which uses MPEG2 in a unique flavor but has nice manual features.
Lucky for me I'm not buying anytime soon so there'll be plenty of data once I'm ready to buy.
