ESPN to produce World Series of Poker, Cold Pizza & Mike and Mike in HD

Why has ESPN taken so long producing the World Series of Poker in high-def? Don't get us wrong, we are glad that the show is finally switching to HD but we just wish they would have done it sooner. It's not like ESPN can even call WSOP the first HD Poker series as INHD Mojo has been airing the Vegas Open for close to a year now. The show starts back up in July and will feature 32 hours of HD. Additionally, two more ESPN shows are making the jump to HD: Cold Pizza & Mike and Mike. These three shows should jump ESPN's yearly HD output to nearly 9,000 hours according to TV Week's calculations. Back to the WSOP, here's hoping the poker table's hole-cams will get an HD upgrade to those tiny high-def cams.

Oh my god, who out there is watching people play poker and then saying, "this would really be better in HD". I'm tired of this poker fad and I find it hard to believe that people will watch it on TV, I'd be more likely to watch golf than poker.

At least golf looks good in HD, who wants to watch the poker players in HD. Some of those guys are the definition of fugly.

btw, what's with the poker craze? We don't see people getting excited watching geeks play Magic, and that's at least got some fun in it compared to poker.

Its not really a craze or a fad poker as a "sport" (and i use that term loosely) Its just poker has been getting larger for years. Each year the wsop gets larger and more people watch. I actually watch some of the wsop not a whole lot but enough to pick up some new tricks. and yeah hopefully the pocket cams are in HD.

we as cleveland fans think that skip is ridiculous with his analogies of the chosen one.

he has no clue as to what he's ever talking about specifically when it comes to the king.

he's only 22 years old and have changed the face of an entire franchise since day 1 upon entering the cavs locker room.

we feel there is a bit of jealousy from skip because as much as he criticizes lebron he continues to get better , make his teamates better , and most of all skip break records that no other 22 year old will be capable
