Maybe we can get a poster with a little more credibility, so that we can judge the content without the Ben filter.

Peter

Comments on The History Channel HD in September on DirecTV

Not sure what you are talking about, but this is a History channel post, not DirecTV.

Also I am a DirecTV subscriber and most agree the HR20 is buggy.

Ben

Comments on The History Channel HD in September on DirecTV

Ben, please.

Let's see:

"We are still a long way from 100 HD channels this year."

Plus, the buggy HR20 thing.

I could go back to your other posts and easily find a dozen digs. It is almost half way through 2007, and is direct tv at half of the promised 100 HD channels. If they do manage to do a massive push in the second half and come up with those 100 channels then I would be quite impressed, but just going on what we have seen so far, he is right they do have a long way to go.

ak

Comments on The History Channel HD in September on DirecTV

they will add these channels when they launch new satellites later in the year

K1A

Comments on The History Channel HD in September on DirecTV

Any bets that the "100 channels in HD" refers to them bringing the 4 major networks in HD to 25 cities?

Bob

Comments on The History Channel HD in September on DirecTV

I have to agree with Peter, these jabs are ridiculous. I have a 9' wide screen, and HD on DirecTV looks great with my Optoma projector (720p). The HR20 acts like my HR10 used to, before the software upgrade (6.xx). It's a bit slow, but I will give them time to work it out.

Bob - obviously, no, they are not talking about the three networks and repeated channels thru the US.

Mark

Comments on The History Channel HD in September on DirecTV

Which HR20 are you talking about, Ben? More than one exists now you know.

For all the bitching people do about DirecTv most of the country has a very little great choices when it comes to tv. You can have the choice between two descent satellite companies or the triple-headed devils spawn that is Cox, Comcast, or Time-Warner cable. I know I'm 100% happier with DirecTv and Qwest than I ever was with Comcast and Qwest. My bill is also more reasonable considering all features, content and receivers I have.

For Bob, if Directv was including local HD networks in the 100 NATIONAL HD CHANNELS they have been announcing they would have been finished before 2007 even began. It's 1,500 Local HD Networks by the end of the year and 100 National HD Channels. (which includes NFL Sunday Ticket/Superfan, Nascar, MLB Extra Innings, HBO(s), History Channel, most likely all the new and old Stars, Cinemax, etc.) It's not that difficult of a promise to keep since all the technology is either currently in use(5LNB Dishes) or bought and built and about ready to be launched into space.

Brendan

Comments on The History Channel HD in September on DirecTV

What the hell is "the buggy HR20 thing?"

Jack Quinn
