Just my 2 cents... I think for the non-techie, non-diehards... price is the most important selling point! You can talk details, studios, etc... but if I can't afford the thing... I won't buy it. The sales of disks are probably higher on the Blu-ray side, because the people can afford to buy anything that comes out. Early adopters aside. If you can hit the right price point, the everyday person will buy. That's when the volume in software will begin to swing. And with volume comes studio awareness, then comes studio acceptance.
