Bowers & Wilkins intro Signature Diamond loudspeakers
Granted, there's no shortage of high-end loudspeakers to spend that mid-year bonus on, but Bowers & Wilkins is hoping you'll look its way if you've got (lots of) cash to spare and an ego to match. Sporting a Kevlar midrange / bass driver, Flowport porting system, marble enclosure, and a tube loaded diamond tweeter, these two-way towers handle between 50 and 120 watts, come in white or wakame color schemes, emit frequencies from 40Hz to 28kHz, and weight in at a hefty 55 pounds apiece. Of course, discerning listeners should expect to pay a premium for such top notch speakers, but since these will reportedly ring up at around $18,000 / pair, they'll probably remain reserved for those with more money than ways to spend it.[Via AudioJunkies]

I'll take 10 pair please. hee hee!
Psh. Ascend Acoustics or even Wharfedale's Diamond serious owns the hell out of B&W. How is this even HD news?
I like Kef Reference speakers better.
Koji, are you serious? How can you even compare B&W with Ascend Acoustics and Wharfedale? You could possibly compare them to speakers like KEF and JM Lab/Focal, but get with it. But based off your comment, you're probably the guy that runs out and spends $3000-4000 on the best TV you can find and then you throw it together with a $200 Insignia 5.1 system from Best Buy and think that's the greatest ever. On your second question if this is even HD news... Yeah a HD picture is a thing of beauty, but it's only half the experience. B&W's signature line offers true HD sound quality. The last pair of B&W signatures I heard were the old Signature II series and they were incredible. Couple those to your HDTV and now you're talking. That's the experience true high definition is supposed to bring. But go ahead, Wharfedale and Ascend Acoustics need their ignorant customers to stay in business.
