In this fast moving tech world, I am still amazed at the price this thing costs since I paid $499 for my Sony DHG-HDD250 (250GB HD) in November 2005. I don't pay any monthly fees. I use OTA-HD so my monthly bill is $0. There is no way I am giving that up to get into a monthly fee program!! What a joke!
Your Sony is single-tuner, isn't it? This is dual-tuner. Does your Sony have broadband content like TiVoCast and Amazon Unbox? No. Does it have all of the features of TiVo as a DVR - Season Passes and Wishlists, and two weeks of Guide data? No. Does it rely on an EPG that isn't available in all areas? Yes. Does it offer music and photo functionality, 3rd party apps like HME, etc? No. In fact, does it even have a network connection? No. Does it have eSATA for storage expansion? No. Can you replace/expand the internal drive? No.
Yeah, a real big joke. Oh, you mean the TiVo. ;-)
