Well, technically Leno is right. Blu-ray and HD-DVD 1080p quality is better than broadcast HDTV. And obviously Blu-ray is better than DVD, but so is HD-DVD. I don't see this as a format war, just that High Definition movies are better than HDTV. Maybe it's cause I didn't watch it, but I refuse to watch anything with Sandra Bullock in it anyways... High Def or not.
Agree with him totally. Here in Puerto Rico, the only OTA HDTV signals I receive are either 480i or merely NTSC-upconverted-to-1080i (or 1080i sourced from 480i, which anyway isn't true 1080i and doesn't look like true 1080i). [Please note that I don't have a HDTV set, but instead a HDTV tuner card on my PC and a 1920x1200 monitor capable of displaying 1080i resolution thru both DVI & analog VGA.] So instead I opted to rent Blu-rays (because the only OEM hi-def PC drives released so far are BD-REs) and sure they look way much better than my local HDTV...
“That iconic Klipsch sound is here in full force, with crisp highs, delicate mids (which can easily have a bit more meat added with an EQ tweak) and tight, booming bass.”
