lol ya the 10bit is cool and the 1.3a ... but give me a god damn break cheap hddvd players have the ethernet, why wouldnt a 2k$ bluray player have it?
and the fact that older cheaper players dont actively support the 1.1 picture in picture kind of makes it a moot point... studios wont use it because their wont be a demand for it since 99% of bluray users wont be able to use the feature anyway. It's kind of like sony adding that ethernet port to the ps2 as an afterthought, it just wont pan out in the long run (and im tlaking the non-standard ethernet and the 1.1 profile)
Um, PS3 will have this function once the 1.1 spec is officially released. Warner has been waiting to release their Matrix collection on BD until this spec is released. Fox is probably still waiting for this to start releasing their product (this and BD+ to be finalized). The PS3 getting it alone will be enough for all companies to start supporting the pip features.
“An engineer explained to us that hundreds of ear impressions were gathered in the name of research, and while each one obviously boasted its own unique shape and size, one single characteristic remained uniform across the board: the entrance into the ear canal is not a perfect circle, it's an oval.”
