I actually think they just chose the BRD because the blue packaging is easily seen. That dark maroon that HD-DVD uses doesn't stand out with flashlights in a dark room. I own a BR player, I'll have to keep an eye out for the "sell out of the trunk" guys pushing BRD discs.
