If you want to know how strong the Spielberg card is then wait an see. I bet he goes blu-ray only.
Since Spielberg and Lucas are really good friends I bet he goes BLu-ray only. Lucas will only release in Blu-ray. If you look at the way Lucas does StarWars then you will seen why he will go Blu-ray only.
Lucas like to pack his DVDs with extras. I'm no expert but if Blu-ray has more space for extras then that what Lucas will use. What StarWars fan is going to want a watered down version of StarWars in HD?
Lucas was talking about Blue laser serveral years ago before he put StarWars on DVD. Thats why he waited so long. He though that the Blue laser would be ready. The fans made him put StarWars on DVD.
Spielberg going Blu-ray only?! I'm sorry, but you have no idea what you're talking about!
Spielberg's Universal titles will never be seen on Blu-ray. So if you want any of these following titles, you should reconsider your statement: Jaws, Jurassic Park, E.T., Schindler's List, Munich.
All of those titles are Universal exclusives, and every other film will be seen on HD DVD and Blu-ray with the exception of two of his films that were produced by Columbia and Tristar (now owned by Sony) which makes them Blu-ray exclusives: Close Encounters of the Third Kind (in the process of being released), Hook.
Naturally there are still a great deal of Spielberg's films that we can expect to see on both formats, but it is still unclear whether or not they will be released any time soon, and whether or not they will maintain format neutrality. To reiterate, it is ONLY Spielberg's Dreamworks films that are currently up in the air.
I hope that I've made my point clear. Spielberg's Universal films are distributed by Universal, and Universal alone, so don't hold out hope for any of the above HD DVD exclusives.

Redd, since when does Lucas pack his DVDs with extras? Last time I checked, both Spielberg and Lucas tend to leave off the extras and just put them on a separate disc. This was the case with both Indiana Jones and Star Wars and I expect it will be much the same for any HD versions that come out. I'm also confused about what you mean about getting a watered down version of Star Wars when it comes out in HD. We've already got about a dozen editions out now and with the exception of the new effects that were added and the inclusion of one or two additional scenes, there isn't much else that CAN come out. The room that either HD format provides is waaaaaaayyy more than is needed for a non-watered down version. If anything, I'm more concerned about the lame ass package itself than the ability of the disc to reproduce the video quality of the films.
Honestly, I don't think some of you will be happy until you see the sticks and strings used to hold up and move the models when the original films were made. Now THAT would be HIGH DEFINITION!
“The other one is a biggie, and it's something very noticeable in the videos: touch sensitivity is pretty bad. Using the virtual keyboard proved to be far too painful, and we're pretty sure it wasn't multitouch-friendly.”
